In my case, I really love to watch them. By watching it, I can imagine myself as the main character in the movies.

The tension and excitement of watching action movies are beyond description.

 

This week, our blog will focus on movies in the Action Genre.

 

Action film is a film genre in which the protagonist or protagonists are thrust into a series of challenges that typically include violence, extended fighting, physical feats, and frantic chases.

It tends to feature a resourceful hero struggling against incredible odds, which include life-threatening situations, a villain, or a pursuit which usually concludes in victory for the hero (though a small number of films in this genre have ended in victory for the villain instead).

This genre is closely associated with the thriller and adventure genres, and they may also contain elements of spy fiction.

• The Maze Runner (2014)

Director: Wes Ball

Plot: Thomas (Dylan O’Brien), a teenager, arrives in a glade at the center of a giant labyrinth. Like the other youths dumped there before him, he has no memory of his previous life. Thomas quickly becomes part of the group and soon after demonstrates a unique perspective that scores him a promotion to Runner status — those who patrol the always-changing maze to find an escape route. Together with Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), the only female, Thomas tries to convince his cohorts that he knows a way out.

Blogger’s comment: I liked the unique tension, urgency, and thrill action that I could feel when I watch this movie, and when I finish watching the movie, I think the movie has a charm that makes the connected story in the next series curious and expected. I like the unusual stories of the movie. It is so exiting to watch the characters struggling finding the way out of the maze.

 

• Taken (2009)

Director: Pierre Morel

Plot: Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson), a former government operative, is trying to reconnect with his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). Then his worst fears become real when sex slavers abduct Kim and her friend shortly after they arrive in Paris for vacation. With just four days until Kim will be auctioned off, Bryan must call on every skill he learned in black ops to rescue her.

Blogger’s comment: I would like t recommend the movie taken to those who want to blow away hot summer. The actions that Liam Neeson showed in the movie was amazing.  The father’s sacrifice to his dauther was the most impressive part of the movie.

• Fast and Furious 8 -series (2017)

Director:  F. Gary Gray

Plot: With Dom and Letty married, Brian and Mia retired and the rest of the crew exonerated, the globe-trotting team has found some semblance of a normal life. They soon face an unexpected challenge when a mysterious woman named Cipher forces Dom to betray them all. Now, they must unite to bring home the man who made them a family and stop Cipher from unleashing chaos.

Blogger’s comment: This movie must be one of the best dynamic movies. The actions that were shown in the movie was ridiculous. The movie is actually about car, which makes people more into it. By watching the movie, I also want to drive like them.

 

• Avengers (2012) – Marvel series

Director: Joss Whedon

Plot: When Thor’s evil brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), gains access to the unlimited power of the energy cube called the Tesseract, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of S.H.I.E.L.D., initiates a superhero recruitment effort to defeat the unprecedented threat to Earth. Joining Fury’s “dream team” are Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).

Blogger’s comment: I can say many people would already know much about Marvel series. they are the most beloved series among the others. I am also one of them. Actually, there were no such a movie that combined all of the heros in the Marvel before. As you have noticed, Avengers is the first movie that contains all the heros introduced in the Marvel series. It is always interesting to watch heros to help the nations or the world by their superpowers.

 

• The Admiral: Roaring Currents (2014) 명량

Director: Kim Han-min

Plot: In 1597, Korean Admiral Yi leads 12 warships into the Battle of Myeong-Nyang against the formidable Japanese navy.

Blogger’s comment: This is a korean movie, which made a lot of people knew more about ‘Admiral Yi sun-Shin’.  I would like to recommend this movie because it has a historical story of  Korea. The main character in the movie is actually the great man in our country. It handles a story how did he able to protect Korea from Japan. I hope many people to learn or know more about him by watching this movie.
